Until just over 10 years ago, South Africas official policy of apartheid, or racial separation, guided by laws such as The Prohibition of Mixed Marriages Actprohibited all mixing of races, including interracial marriage and transracial adoption (defined as the adoption of a child from a race that is different from that of the adoptive parent) (Aziza Moos and Kelvin Mwaba). Why did it take so long for Africa to remove serval racial segregation laws while America has already removed all racial segregation laws? Is it culture or past concepts? Is Africa assimilating or accommodating for variety of cultures unlike their own? Did colonization have effect on how Africans view Europeans?
