Report will have no less than 1000 words, with a 12 pt. Times New Roman font at 1.5 spaces, and will be submitted through
Blackboard. Half a point will be deducted for each day of late turn in of the lab report.
In the report must appear:
• The scientific classification of each observed microorganism: Domain; Kingdom; Phylum; Class; Order; Faily; Genus.
• The most important morphological, physiological and ecological features of each observed genus .
• A small picture of each microorganism (better if taken with your smart phone).
2. The second part of the report will use the information derived from the calculation of the microbial growth curve and the
results obtained from the labs referred to factors that affect microbial growth.
It should show the following format:
• Experiment 1: Microbial growth curve determination (including the Excel graphic).
• Experiment 2: Effect of disinfectants on microbial growth (pictures taken from the board won’t be accepted).
• Experiment 3: The antibiotic activity determination.
• Experiment 4: Effect of temperature on microbial growth.
• Experiment 5: Effect of ultraviolet light on microbial growth.
The lab report format for each experiment should be:
• Introduction.
• Materials and methods (microbial species, devices and procedures)
• Results and discussion (should include table /or curve).
