The essay contains two body sections also called  “developments”. in every section in the body of the essay, the writer must identify a certain area of knowledge (AOK) or way of knowing (WOK).

As part of the theory of knowledge (TOK), students are required to choose one of the essay titles from the six that are issued by the International Baccalaureate, IB.
