Must be 2000 to 3000 words in length (8 to 12 pages):
o the word count does not include the figures, maps, or reference list;
o the page count will vary a LOT, depending on the font and font size that you use, so please go by the word count;
o please remember to paginate.
Must include an Abstract that effectively and concisely summarizes the content of the paper:
o an appropriate length for the Abstract is 150-200 words;
o additional information will be posted on the course website about writing an abstract.
Must be neatly and professionally presented, including a cover page with all relevant information (title, your name, your student number, course number/designator, and date).
Must be written in a scholarly (academic) writing style.
Must utilize mainly peer-reviewed scholarly sources:
o reliable and timely documents such as government publications and even newspaper articles can be acceptable in some cases;
o all sources should be cited and referenced using APA style;
o additional information will be posted on the course web site regarding the use of APA-style citation and referencing.
Should include figures, tables, maps, or diagrams that are relevant to your topic, fully captioned, and with their sources fully and correctly referenced.
Must include a section that is factually descriptive of the hazardous event or process that is the focus of your Case Study.
Must also include significant analytical focus and content:
o the Term Paper is meant to be an analytical or evaluative work, not just a descriptive work (recall the difference between the “summative/descriptive” and “evaluative/analytical” paragraphs in your Annotated Bibliography).
Must be carefully proofread to eliminate typos and small grammatical errors (if you are not going to read your own paper carefully, why should we…?).
Must be submitted digitally to our Blackboard site by 11:59 p.m.
