Statement of Purpose

In this assignment, you will write a brief paper that begins to develop your definition of sustainability. The paper will also describe

the effect of population and affluence on sustainability by comparing your ecological footprint with a typical person from a society

in a different stage of development and level of affluence.

Instrucons

Use the tool (select Ecological Footprints above) to calculate your footprint

Use the tool to calculate the footprint of a typical person in another country. Chose a country at the survival, pre-modern,

or modern stage of development.

  1. Craft a brief paper (between 700 and 1000 words) discussing the concept of sustainability and how population and

development level impacts sustainability.

Compare your calculated footprint with someone living in a society with a different stage of development. Name the

country and its level in the paper.

Discuss how the results are calculated, and give your opinion, with justification, on whether this is a reasonable approach.

Include at least one figure.

Use at least three references (cited and formatted appropriately using the APA format). Refer to this APA Citation Guide
