Aligned with other classmates, self-discipline is teaching yourself to do things that are necessary to reach your goals, and not becoming side tracked by bad habits. Self-discipline gives you a feeling of self-expectancy and control over your life. We will need self-discipline to achieve our goals no matter how motivated, skilled or confident we are.Self- discipline is comprised of two parts. The first part, persistence is determination to succeed. It allows us to put in the effort many times over until our goal is reached. It is a never say never or die attitude. The second part is self-determination meaning determining the path your life travels. In other words it’s about controlling your life. Benefits of self-discipline include, helping avoid impulses, keeping you going when motivation is low, and help you overcome procrastination. Two other benefits that stand out to me are, it drives us to meet responsibilities and most important meet and achieve our goals.
