The crux of this research paper is to formulate a way to identify and provide support for the fire fighters that that are deployed as reservist to combat areas and develop PTSD. The war time PTSD can be accentuated by traumatic events that have happened in the emergency services as a fire fighter /EMT role too. Currently the jurisdiction that I serve does not have any program to identify, support or treat PTSD. There is an EAP (employee assistance program) for stress related issues, but basic reading shows that target specific tx for PTSD is needed. The goal of this research is to provide recommendations for the Fire department and the jurisdiction.
