One option is to expand your essay on an occupation of interest to you (recently graded), from roughly 7 pages, to 14.
In that revision and expansion, you will 1) take advantage of any comments I’ve given you, or will provide via meetings or email exchanges; 2) expand your
discussion of at least two of the concepts (from earlier in our course) that were listed in italics in the last set of guidelines (e.g., de-skilling, changes in
credentials or strategies of œprofessionalization, dynamics of gender; and 3) three (3) other scholarly sources that discuss the occupation. Mind you, these sources
can be outside of sociology or gerontology, but still need to be in scholarly journals or books. (I’m available to provide guidance).
