Writing topic: Marijuana Legalization. Your next essay will feature your ability to assess and evaluate the quality of a particular belief or argument in which you have some personal stake or interest. In content and structure, I expect what you should have done throughout the first 2/3 of your last essay without the thorough rebuttal. Your own biases on the issue notwithstanding, you will make an objective critique of the validity of others’ beliefs based on both the most credible evidence available and your application of reason. Do not commit logical fallacies. Some examples of potential topics would be: a particular scientific theory, a philosophical or academic idea, extra-terrestrial visitation/abduction, a conviction in the literal reading of any religion’s creation story, a conspiracy theory, people with psychic abilities, particular experiences of the supernatural, and a specific example of crypto-zoology. As I stated in class, this essay should be both something in which you have a personal interest and challenging.

As before, the essay must be 5 pages double spaced, Times New Roman, MLA formatted with 3-5 professional or academic sources minimum.
