Assessing Live Nation’s Businesses
Students should complete an analysis of about two paragraphs in length for each of the following six Live Nation business units; concert promotion, merchandising, venue management, venue ownership, artist management (including 360-degree deals), and ticket sales. For each of these business units, describe the following:
1. What is going well?
2. What is going poorly?
3. What important knowledge or resources are used in the operations that support this business unit? -Just the major pieces, an exhaustive list is not needed here.
4. Explain whether any of the five business units described in this section create economies of scope or synergies with any of the other business units and in detail describe what those are.
Students assess each of the four points above for each of the six business units described
Important notes:
” When assessing artist management, be sure to distinguish between up-and-coming artists and big name artists
” When assessing venue ownership, be sure to distinguish between very large venues and smaller ones
