CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOUR ISSUES BELOW AND MAKE YOUR BEST DEONTOLOGICAL ARGUMENT. YOUR ARGUMENT SHOULD BE AT LEAST TWO PAGES IN LENGTH.
1. As a Kantian “duty ethicist,” make an argument for or against public business owners with “sincerely held religious beliefs” being allowed to withhold services from the LGBT community (or anyone else to whom they might object).
2. As a Kantian “duty ethicist,” make an argument for or against legalizing prostitution. This does NOT include children or sex trafficking.
3. As a Kantian “ duty ethicist,” make a case for or against abortion (being “for” abortion would include considering a woman’s right to choose for herself).
4. As a Kantian “duty ethicist,” make an argument for or against hate speech websites being allowed to freely spread their message online. If internet companies shut them down, is that a violation of their free speech rights?
