Identify what city and county you live in.
a)
If you live in an unincorporated area of a county, state how county government functions in Texas as well as your county. Describe any and all special districts within your county. Name ALL county commissioners for your county. Name the county tax assessor collector.
Describe the function of EITHER the county commissioner OR the tax assessor/collector.

If you live in a city, name the Mayor and ALL city council members. Describe what type of city government you have (e.g. strong mayor, weak mayor, council manager, etc.).
Are council representatives paid? If so, how much? Is the mayor a full time paid position?

a) Assume someone has property worth $ 200,000 at your exact address, calculate the tax that would be paid on this property assuming just the standard homestead exemption.
b) Do the same as a) above but for property worth $ 400,000. Is the amount of tax double on the $ 400,000 property compared to the $ 200,000? Why or why not?
