Global Issue Intervention and Evaluation Plan
Assignment Summary
Now that you have expertise in the background of the health issue that was the focus of your Unit 5 assignment, you will propose an intervention and evaluation plan in one country of your choosing (not the United States).
As a nursing professional, it is important that you are able to present important health information and communicate effectively to a wide audience. To help you practice this career skill, you will present your global issue intervention and evaluation plan final assignment as a recorded PowerPoint presentation.
You may use Microsoft PowerPoint or any other suitable presentation software to create your slides. Use the speaker’s notes section of each slide to develop your talking points and cite your sources, as appropriate. Review the resources for helpful links to help you develop an effective presentation.
Developing the Presentation
Be sure that your presentation addresses each point outlined below at a minimum. You may also want to read the Global Issue Intervention and Evaluation Plan Scoring Guide to better understand how each criterion will be assessed.
Note: Consider using a community-directed intervention (CDI) for your plan. (A CDI strategy is a plan in which community members collectively discuss a health or developmental challenge and the possible interventions; design the approach to implement the interventions in the community; identify the resources required to accomplish the task; plan how, when, where, and by whom it will be implemented; and anticipate the expected outcomes.)
Introduction
The introduction of your presentation should provide context for the audience: a brief description of the health problem and the impact of the health issue on your chosen country. Your presentation will consist of two plans: an intervention and an evaluation plan.
Intervention Components
Complete the following:
• Propose a culturally sensitive, evidence-based intervention to address the clinical problem.
o Include a description of the intervention, citing evidence to show why your proposed intervention is appropriate for the problem and the culture.
o Identify key stakeholders of the proposed intervention.
o Explain how you would engage key stakeholders.
• Identify barriers and enablers for the proposed intervention.
o Identify gaps in strategies or research that have been used historically to address this global health issue.
o Examine potential or anticipated influences that might hinder or support the intervention.
• Predict outcomes of the proposed intervention.
o State a measurable goal of the intervention.
o Determine how it will be measured to meet the outcomes.
§ Identify metrics to measure outcomes.
Evaluation Components
Include a clear descriptive introduction to the topic. In addition:
• Write a culturally sensitive, evidence-based evaluation plan to address current health concern in chosen country.
o Include a description of the evaluation, citing evidence to show why your proposed evaluation plan is appropriate for the intervention and the culture.
o Explain what will be evaluated and how it will be evaluated in terms of measurable outcomes.
• Synthesize cultural, socioeconomic, and political concepts related to clinical prevention and population health to address the clinical problem.
o Based on the area of the globe and the topic of concern, evaluate the culture, socioeconomic status, and politics related to the intervention or prevention strategy.
Be sure to support main points, arguments, and conclusions with relevant and credible evidence, correctly formatting citations and references using APA style.
Presentation Format and Length
Your PowerPoint presentation should consist of 10–15 slides, not including a title slide, an objectives slide, and a references slide.
Supporting Evidence
Cite 7 sources of scholarly or professional evidence to support your presentation. List your sources on the references slide at the end of your presentation.
