Diversity Considerations in Leadership

Diversity Considerations in Leadership

Diversity, is defined in its broadest terms. Diversity refers not only to race and ethnicity, but also to differences in gender, age, culture, religion, socioeconomic status, physical ability, and other criteria. Diversity brings with it opportunity and possibility, but providing leadership in settings that are highly diverse may be challenging to some. Effective leaders acknowledge the strengths of diversity, and work to address the challenges they experience within themselves and amongst colleagues. Leaders who work effectively with diversity can foster improved relationships and greater productivity in their organizations.
