Being able to distinguish needs from wants is a simple thought of can I function without a certain item or even certain people in my life. Growing up my father used to say if I don’t buy this for you will you die? The response was always no of course which leads to I didn’t need it. Needs tend to motivate my behavior by helping me to strive to survive knowing I can’t go without. Work is a need for me in my house now but so is school because I know I need to help pay bills to be stable every month. While I can’t make it life without having the proper knowledge to move forward with my goals. Latiesha

Describe how to distinguish needs from wants. A need is essential for survival, they don’t change over time all we as individuals have the same needs. Want is a desire not essential for survival they change over time needs may different depending on the individual. If we have all the basic needs we, are surviving, if we are surviving means that we have the essentials to have motivation. A need is something you cant live without, a want is everything else. To get, achieve or have what we want we must fulfill all of our needs, having all our needs will help achieving all life goals.
