Camela is a 43 year old Caucasian female engineer who is presenting for treatment after several months of struggling at work and concern that she will not be promoted shortly, although she is eligible. Camela reports she has worried about being successful at work since graduating from college two years ago, but this has worsened in the past several months such that she is experiencing frequent panic attacks at work, and more recently, also at the store and even while driving. She is worried that she will have another panic attack as these recent ones outside work occurred without a clear stress or trigger. She feels out of control, dizzy, and worries she is dying because of her racing heart although she now recognizes she is not having a heart attack. She has high blood pressure and is concerned about her risk of heart attack when she feels this way. She has been working from home and trying to avoid interacting with work colleagues to reduce the chance of an attack but fears this will prevent her from being promoted.
