Love and suffering

Orsino’s suffering in love occurs because he is not actually in love with Olivia, but refuses to admit to a change of heart. Orsino never in love with Olivia. Even though Orsino won’t admit it to himself, others around him can see that his love for Olivia is not as constant as he claims. Feste teases Orsino for his inconstancy, saying, “the tailor make thy doublet of changeable taffeta, for they mind is a very opal” (2.4.80-83).

“My state is desperate for my master’s love.” (2.2.37) is it correct? Viola bemoans the fact that she can’t tell Orsino how she feels, stating, “My state is desperate for my master’s love” (2.2.37).
