Sexual Morality and Equality and Discrimination

Millions of women as well as men globally are denied access to jobs and training, confined to one type of occupations or offered lower pay due to matters of disability, ethnicity, indigenous or tribal status, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, political or other opinion, real or perceived HIV/AIDS-status or other status.

Different types of sexual orientation discrimination – four main sexual orientation discrimination types.

Direct discrimination

This happens when a person treats another in worse manner compared to another person in a similar situation because of sexual orientation.

Indirect discrimination

Indirect discrimination takes place in an organization having a policy or way of working that applies to everyone but which puts people of any one sexual orientation at disadvantage.

Harassment

Harassment in the workplace occurs when someone makes another person to feel humiliated, offended as well as degraded.

Victimisation

This is when an individual are treated in an inappropriate manner due to complaint on sexual orientation related discrimination under the Equality Act.
