Certification Plan
The intern will complete an interview with a campus administrator regarding Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code on discipline and safe schools. An understanding of the impact of that statute on the operations of the campus will be accomplished. The intern will gain understanding of the associated leadership responsibilities in these processes.
Required Activities and Journal Entry
Write a journal entry that will be shared with your instructor and will include the following information:
Interview questions and responses to an administrator responsible for maintaining school discipline and safety to determine how campus security and order are maintained, as well as communicated to students, teachers, and parents/community members.
Discuss in the journal how data are used to inform campus leadership of discipline trends or concerns and how those findings are addressed. How is Chapter 37 of the Texas Administrative Code relevant to establishing a safe and orderly learning environment?
