I submitted this paper with the title mentioned above to an IEEE conference, it has been rejected with these comments:
Reviewer 1: Energy forecasting models for buildings is a problem that can be solved by several standard and well-known forecasting tools from time-series analysis, statisistics or AI. As a standalone application (without a coupling to electric grid), these results are of minimal use.
Reviewer 2: This paper investigated the use of Gated Recurrent Unit algorithm for energy consumption prediction in individual buildings and building sectors. Overall, this paper has a clear presentation, but its work has few overlaps over power system areas. The authors are encouraged to strengthen the relationship between this paper and power system areas.
