Hello,
I will give you a description what you exactly have to write. I wrote this with my supervisor and if you don’t follow it, she will not believe that I wrote the thesis so please read it carefully it is really IMPORTANT. I uploaded all the necessary sources to this address for you: https://www.sendspace.com/file/1x22pp
Before you start to write read the power point presentation and the CORPUS and the comments of the lecturer in that file. Write accordingly to the questions she asked there. Here are the steps that you have to follow:
1) Introduction
2) Description of two anthologies (The best of Modern European Literature and An anthology of humorous verse) :
– How many text fragments
– Order of the text fragments? Chronology? Genres and subgenres? Languages? Literary currents?
– Which (sub)genres? Are the genres identified?
– Introduction, comment, footnotes at the fragments? Is there any contextualization of the fragments in the anthology?
– Are there hints at the function of the anthology, the audience (specialized vs general)? What kind of previous knowledge is required? What kind of knowledge on literature is offered to the reader?
– Lay-out, illustrations, format? Expensive book, cheap book?
– Do we know something about reception and circulation?
3) Theory: You should explain 3 concepts. I uploaded all the necessary sources for you.
4) Close Reading of 2 case studies:
a) The best of Modern European Literature (Heart of Europe) 1920-1940
Edited by Klaus Mann and Hermann Kesten, with an introd. by Dorothy Canfield Fisher.
b) An anthology of humorous verse : from Robert Herrick to Owen Seaman
Edited by Melville, Helen ; Melville, Lewis, London : Harrap, 1910
(I uploaded the books you have to do the close readings.)
5) Conclusions:
– Answers initial questions
– More insight “genre” anthology
As I wrote I upload all the necessary files for you to this address. I also uploaded full text of one of the case studies and the introduction, index and appendixes of another case study(you don’t need the full text because the rest is only stories. Only don’t forget to mention that there is an introduction before each section. Please only use the sources that I provided. If you can send me a draft before you finish it, I can get feedback from my supervisor and you can continue related with that so it will be much safer.
Thanks
