Here is the Description:

Literature Review (15%): (Approximately 5‐7 pages)
Assignment description: You will need to develop a research question of your own on a topic of your choosing related to your field and write a critical
review of the relevant literature. You will need to identify a research question and/or hypothesis then critically discuss the literature and explain why
you are doing the referencing. . You will be expected to utilize a minimum of five relevant, academic sources for your review from the library or open
source scholarly literature on the internet. Remember that you will need to synthesize the literature and explain how the sources relate to each other
and to your own proposed research. In addition to content, you will be graded on grammar and spelling and ensure that you include a title and reference
(APA format) with your assignment submission.
Purpose: A literature review focusses on previous research and shows how your study will contribute to the field and fill a gap in knowledge.

Assignment Suggestions:

1. Remember that the purpose of a literature review is to demonstrate the context for your own research and should lead your audience to
understand WHY your research question is a relevant one to be examined.

2. Within your question there will be terms for you to operationalize. These terms are often good places to start for literature reviews as you’ll
refer to previous research to formulate those definitions.

3. When trying to find sources for your literature review, use the reference pages of other sources. Make sure that you include sources that are
current as opposed to those published 20 years ago. Your sources should be from the last 5 years, with exceptions for foundational theory work
that might be older.

4. When organizing your literature review, use key themes and findings to create your headings and sub‐headings.

5. Remember that you always want to examine your sources critically, synthesize the different works together, and show how they connect to your
own research. Ultimately, you are looking for the strengths and weaknesses of other research and how it relates to your own.

6. You should always include a brief summary of each source to give context to your analysis. Mention methodology, sampling, key issues, terms,
concepts, findings, etc.

7. When synthesizing the sources, you could include:
ï‚· Summarizing a source
ï‚· Comparing and contrasting views
ï‚· Identifying sources with similar views
ï‚· Critiquing methodology
ï‚· Identifying areas of disagreement
ï‚· Showing gaps in knowledge
ï‚· Using exemplary studies
ï‚· Identifying underlying theory
ï‚· Showing how a study relates to earlier/later work(s)

8. Make sure that you fully explain the significance of that research to justify why it is relevant for your research question.

Assignment Guidelines:

1. At this stage, you should already have an idea of your research question or hypothesis as well as the methodology you are planning to use for
your study. You should now start exploring the literature and brainstorm different components of your topic. For example, if your overall topic is
criminal profiling, you could create a mind map of the different ways this relates to policing. (This will also help you in the planning and writing
stages.)

2. When examining sources to determine which you will use, scan them quickly for content and make notes of the main concepts. Make note of
the way different researchers have conducted their research. To see how these sources relate to each other, you could also create a table
showing the key components of each source.

3. When writing your literature review, remember that you need to include:
 Background information explaining why this topic and your research is important – the context of your research question
ï‚· A statement of your research question or hypothesis
ï‚· Headings and subheadings on key themes to keep you focused and provide signposts for the reader

Human Resource Management

You are a Human Resource Management consultant for a company. The executive leadership team has recently discovered that the company needs to completely revamp the compensation programs being offered to their sales employees. The major competitor is paying the sales executives 15% more than your organization.

What steps would you take to correct this major problem? Include the following information in your case study summary:

  • An overview of this case.
  • Key Issues or Problems.
  • Alternatives that you can consider.
  • A potential solution to your dilemma.
  • Your conclusion on the case study.
  • Relevant additional supporting research.
    • Be sure to cite any outside research sources.

thesis

A thesis statement is the central crux of your paper. In the case of the argumentative research essay, it is one sentence that clearly states the topic as well as the argument of your paper. A thesis statement must not be a fact; it must be an arguable position on a topic. Consider the following two statements:

Example 1: Many high school students play after-school sports.

Example 2: While many feel that participating in sports in high school may decrease the amount of time and attention spent on schoolwork, high school athletics promote physical fitness, teamwork, and opportunities for higher education.

Of these two sentences, which would make the better thesis? Which one is arguable and has multiple points of view? Example two is the better thesis because it is an argument. Example one is a fact. It is not arguable.

Your task is to craft a thesis statement that clearly and concisely states your argument. Do not use first or second person—keep your thesis statement objective by using third person and excluding any personal opinions.

After you present your thesis statement, provide at least one paragraph explaining why your thesis statement is argumentative and how you can support your thesis statement throughout your paper. Though not all debates are so black and white as to have only two sides, you should aim to identify at least two sides of the issue at hand (both the side represented by your thesis statement, and at least one other). Then, discuss a few potential supporting points you could develop within the body of your paper and back up with information from your research.

Simply designing and implementing a policy is not enough to guarantee the success of a program ………..

Simply designing and implementing a policy is not enough to guarantee the success of a program – it also involves evaluating the progress of that policy in order to make any necessary adjustments to increase quality and efficacy. Pick a public policy that has been in the news recently, and evaluate whether that policy has achieved measurable objectives, and if not, why the policy has not met the expectations of its policy designers. You may select, for example, policies regarding education (e.g., No Child Left Behind), the economy (e.g., cutting taxes for middle-class taxpayers), or foreign policy (e.g., American military actions in Iraq and Afghanistan). Be sure to include what criteria you used to evaluate whether the policy succeeded or failed.
