Introduction and Purpose of Assignment
Why are some companies successful while others are not? Each company has a unique position in their industry and in the market. Unfortunately this does not mean that each position is equally successful. In this discussion you will identify and examine one company’s unique position to evaluate if this position will support the company’s long-term success.
Objectives
- Analyze the current positioning of the organization in relationship to their competitive approach for achieving long-term success. (2.2)
Theory and Context
For organizations to achieve success in the future, they must analyze their current situation and how they stack up against their competitors. After identifying their current situation, organizations must identify their competitive approach by finding new ways to create a niche within their industry while maximizing value chain activities. The next spectrum is to determine the competitive scope and how broad or narrow the market coverage is.
