Homer the odyssey Essay Dissertation Help – Write My School Essay

Your basic task is to produce a work wherein you do three major things:

(a.) compose brief character studies of twelve characters from The Odyssey,
(b.) quote our text using especially revealing words by or about these characters,
(c.) find a picture of a person or being from another source who, whether always or in a particular circumstance, illustrates characteristics parallel to each of your characters, and explain the parallel.

Embellishments of these basics:

(a.) For your characters you must include: Athena; Odysseus; Penelope; Telemachus; either Zeus or Poseidon (not both); and either Calypso or Circe (not both), plus six others you choose. The reason for this rule is to get you to use some of other characters in the book.

(b.) You must quote from sixteen (16) different chapters of the book. This means that for some of the characters you must get references from two chapters. This sounds like a lot but you have been—and will be—collecting quotes as we go through the text.

(c.) You may use real people, including from your own life,* actors as they appear in films, anything. (*You may use a generic photo in certain cases.) The only general categories that are off limits are portrayals by actors of the characters, or scenes from actual versions of The Odyssey or similar period / cultural productions (for example, you can’t just get pictures from 300 or Troy!).

Be creative! You should plan to produce about two thirds of a page of text for each character, but some of that will be taken up with quotes. Also, depending on the format you choose the text may not all be contained in one block. You can be as serious, as funny or irreverent as you wish. You may also choose any format you desire. For this reason while you must indicate the page numbers and chapters from which you get you quotes and references (and if quoting a person you’re drawing a parallel to, indicate where the quote is from), apart from that the less official looking the better!

Projects will be judged on three criteria: (1.) did the person cover the basics, that is to say describe the characters well, use apt and effective quotes, (2.) were the parallels drawn plausible and effective, and (3.) creativity in design and execution
