Your essay should consist of two parts.
The first part (1000 words
including references)
should be a scholarly investigation of the topic. The second part (250 words) should be
consideration of your own personality, gender or cultural background
(whichever is appropriate for your essay)
, how your interpersonal communication is affected by this, what your strengths or
weaknesses might be and what you have learnt that might improve your understanding of how you and others (who are different from you) communicate.
Assessment criteria:
You will be marked on your ability to:
provide evidence of

and correctly

sources
(scholarly sources, books or good quality web resources)
reference correctly using the APA
referencing style
throughout
(ask your lecturer if you want
to use another approved referencing style)
organize your essay coherently with

clear, methodical introduction and conclusion
demonstrate
knowledge
of
interpersonal communication theories
and show
evidence of
critical
evaluation and application
of
those theories
apply the research to your
own
interpersonal communication
use appropriate language and demonstrates
acceptable knowledge
and
practice of
grammar,
syntax,
vocabulary,
punctuation and proofreading
