Assignment 2 “ Data collection and reporting
The aim of this assignment is to formulate a report on whether age and sex affects
performance in the Stroop ColorWord test. To test this research question data will be
collected via the Inquisit software program. The results of the experiment are to be
presented in a correctly formatted APA style table and interpreted using the questions
provided in the section of this handout titled Requirements and Grading “ Point 3.
Due Date and Submission Format
ï‚· The assignment contributes 20% to your final grade in the unit
ï‚· Your assignment must be submitted by Monday 12th May 2014

table (250 words).

Participation in the data collection phase of this study is NOT compulsory. However, the
results for the table will come solely from the data collected from you, and the more data we
have the easier it will be for you to draw conclusions from it.

a) Were the findings of our study consistent with those of other studies? Refer
to previous literature in your answer.
b) Discuss some limitations of the way in which data collection was conducted.
How could these limitations be overcome in future studies?
c) Discuss one real world implication of the Stroop effect.
“ Marks are awarded for coherent and thoughtful answers that make reference to
previous literature.
