Applying Ethical Issues
Apply your understanding of ethical issue in education. Your assignment should have three parts. In the first part you are asked to develop and justify a general account of ethical behavior that is informed by the four ethical frameworks. In the second part you should apply that account to the ethical decision making of educational leaders. This part should include a discussion of the special ethical constraints or imperatives that should influence leaders’ decisions. Finally in the third part, you are asked to describe an issue which has occurred or could occur in an educational context, for which there is no immediately apparent solution based on the facts of the matter alone. You should then outline how an educational leader, behaving ethically, should approach the issue to reach a defensible resolution.
That is, your assignment should include:
the development and justification of a general account of ethical behavior that is informed by the four ethical frameworks
the application of that account to the ethical decision making of educational leaders, including a discussion of the special ethical constraints or imperatives that should influence leaders’ decisions.
description of an issue and an outline how an educational leader, behaving ethically, should approach the issue to reach a defensible resolution.
